NILES -- For a city of its size, Niles sure does offer a lot of cultural opportunities.
And this year's summer concert series proves it with a steady flow of live music.
Starting in June, the Riverfront Park Amphitheater in downtown Niles will be offering three free concerts almost every week of the summer. With acts scheduled for Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, live music will become a regular occurrence for the Niles community
The Sunday concerts were organized by Bryan Williams and the Thursday concerts were scheduled by Tom Majerek.
This year's line-up includes a very diverse mix of entertainment including rock, bluegrass, jazz, folk and theater to name a few.
Not only will this concert series entertain, it also offers an outlet for many of the musicians to express their art to a new audience.
Wakevainen thinks Niles' Riverfront Park is a perfect place to hold such events.
The Sunday in the Park series will begin at 6 p.m., the Wednesday Music by the River series will begin at 7 p.m. and the Thursday Night Live series will begin at 7:30 p.m.
All acts and performers are subject to change and the events are scheduled to take place rain or shine.
