Brandywine plays 17 innings for one win, one loss at Concord

A non-conference doubleheader Saturday in Elkhart, Ind., was about as close as it could be between the Brandywine and Concord softball teams.
The Bobcats won the first game, 2-0, in eight innings. The Minutemen won the second game, 1-0, in nine innings.
The split moves Brandywine's record to 21-5. The Bobcats are ranked No. 3 in Division 3. Concord, which is ranked No. 14 in Indiana's Class 4A, is 17-3.
Nicki McGowen tossed a no-hitter for Brandywine in the first game. She struck out 14 batters.
Ashley Antus doubled and drove in one run for the Bobcats in the first game. Dee Echevarria added two singles. Kelli Zache hit a pair of singles in the second game.
Brandywine travels to Berrien Springs Tuesday afternoon.
