NILES -- The Brandywine Public Schools Board of Education took a step forward in its superintendent search by setting up interviews with a new set of candidates at Monday night's meeting.
Brandywine school officials stated the board reviewed 11 new resumes for the superintendent search in closed session and then scheduled interviews with four of the candidates for 6 and 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday in the Brandywine High School library.
The four new candidates are Gary Rider, a high school principal for Kenowa Hills Public Schools; Mort Meier, an elementary school principal in the Big Rapids Publics Schools district; Daniel Woodward, a former superintendent, who is now a consultant with the Michigan Department of Education; and David Bass, the superintendent of South Newton Schools in Kentland, Ind.
In other business, the board approved a bleacher renovation bid for $75, 234.
The board also announced the groundbreaking ceremony for the facility improvement bond project will be held on Monday at Brandywine High School. A reception will be held at 4 p.m. with the ceremony to take place at 4:30 p.m.
