Bobcat baseball splits twinbill with LMC

Brandywine split a non-conference baseball doubleheader with Lake Michigan Catholic Wednesday afternoon.
Each team earned a mercy-rule victory as LMC beat Brandywine 18-5 in the first game and the Bobcats beat the Lakers 12-2 in the second game.
Aaron Holy and Casey Udell led Brandywine with two hits each in the first game.
Brandywine pitchers Josh Atwood, who took the loss, Tim Douglass, Alan Schoff and Matt Wieger gave up 14 walks in the loss.
Billy Syrette picked up his first varsity win by giving up just one single in the third inning of the second game. He struck out four batters and helped out offensively with a double.
Holy led the Bobcats' hitting with two hits including a two-run homer in the second inning.
Matt Koller and Wieger each added two hits as well.
Brandywine is now 6-9 overall and returns to Lakeland Conference action Friday with a doubleheader at River Valley on Friday at 4 p.m.
