NILES -- Today is the last day to reserve a spot for this weekend's Celebration Chair Gala.
The unique event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Riverfront Cafe, 219 N. Front St.
There will be 49 originally decorated chairs, stools and step ladders available at the gala through oral and silent auctions.
The artwork, currently on display in store windows throughout downtown Niles, was donated by local artists.
Music will be provided by the Bill Nicks Trio and Hors D'oeuvres and beverages will be served. A dinner of prime rib or salmon is available to interested guests.
The event, which aims to celebrate the progress made thus far in downtown Niles, will benefit the Niles Main Street Initiative and the Niles Art Association.
Guests are asked to enter the gala from Riverfront Cafe's patio entrance on Sycamore Street.
The construction of the combined sewer overflow project may affect traffic.
The Main Street Promotions Committee indicated there will be signs outside to direct guests to available parking.
The price of tickets is $40 for individuals and $75 per couple without dinner, and $50 for individuals and $100 per couple with dinner. Those interested in attending should call the Main Street Initiative Office at (269)687-4332 by 5 p.m. today.
