Rangers upset Brandywine netters

The start of the Lakeland Conference season was disappointing for the Brandywine varsity tennis team. The Bobcats dropped a 5-3 decision at Cassopolis Wednesday afternoon.
The only victories of the day for Brandywine came via forfeits.
Cassopolis No. 1 singles player Gerrit Hemme beat Mike Nagy 6-1, 6-3. At No. 2 singles, Johnny Thammavongsa beat Cory Barber 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. Tommy Luangasa beat Brandywine's Chris Harrison 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
Brandywine's Kyle Bankston won the No. 4 singles match by forfeit.
At No. 1 doubles, Pat King and Aaron Brown beat Brandywine's Nick Shelton and Blayne Brady 6-3, 4-6, 6-1. Teddy Luangasa and Bunlome Noringhang beat Brian Echevarria and Pat Van Laere 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2 doubles.
Brandywine won the No. 3 and No. 4 doubles matches by forfeit.
