No. 7 Bucks win title at Muskegon

The No. 7-ranked Buchanan varsity tennis team earned its third tournament title of the season Saturday at Muskegon Catholic.
Bucks finished with 21 points while Grandville Calvin Christian took second with 12. Muskegon Catholic finished third with eight points and Spring Lake took fourth with seven.
Buchanan, which is the defending Division 4 State Champion, tallied six first-place finishes Saturday, led by No. 1 singles player Jose Gonzalez. True Sullier took first place at No. 3 singles. All four Buchanan doubles teams finished first, including Chad Van Lue and Doug Summers at No. 1, Alex Flood and Alex Gordon at No. 2, Mike Otwell and Korey Camp at No. 3 and Brandon Smeltzer and Josh Demeulenaere at No. 4.
Jeff Eifler finished second at No. 2 singles and Ryan Skene took second at No. 4 singles.
The Bucks host Kalamazoo Hackett, which is ranked No. 6 in Division 4, today at 4:30 p.m. and then hosts Cassopolis Wednesday in a Lakeland Conference match.
