NILES -- The success of the Niles High School girls basketball program is continuing to pay off for its players, even beyond high school.
Jessica Johnson is the latest Niles player to sign a letter of commitment to play college basketball.
Johnson will be joining head coach Brian Beebe at Glen Oaks Community College this fall.
Johnson played on the Niles varsity team all four years in high school and helped the team win four district titles and one regional title.
Beebe recently completed his first year at Glen Oaks and the team earned a record of 9-17 after finishing the season with only seven healthy players.
Glen Oaks plays in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association against the likes of Lake Michigan College and Kalamazoo Valley Community College, two teams which have benefited from the play of former Niles standouts recently.
