Eddies capture own baseball invitational

Edwardsburg did not give up a run on Saturday in winning its own invitational baseball tournament.
The Eddies (2-0) blanked Jimtown (Ind.), 4-0, in the championship game of the Edwardsburg Invitational.
The Eddies defeated Lawton in the first round, 10-0 in five innings. Edwardsburg pitchers Zach Rooney and Ben Horton allowed a combined five hits against Jimtown and Lawton.
Rooney tossed a three-hitter in the championship game, while Horton tossed a two-hitter at Lawton.
The Eddies finished with five hits in the title tilt, led by Nathan Peak who doubled.
In the first game Edwardsburg banged out 11 hits. Jon Muff led the way with a double and a triple. Horton and Adam Horn both doubled for the Eddies.
Edwardsburg returns to action today when it faces Dowagiac at Rotary Park. The non-conference twin bill is scheduled to begin at noon.
