Chieftains forced to travel for district competition

Dowagiac will travel to Battle Creek, Paw Paw and Allegan to compete in golf, soccer and tennis post season tournaments.
The Michigan High School Athletic Association recently announced its district and regional tournament sites for the 2004 spring sports teams.
The Dowagiac girl's golf team will travel to Battle Creek's Binder Park Golf Course for the Division 3 regional.
The Chieftains will be joined by Battle Creek Harper Creek, Comstock Park, Grand Rapids South Christian, Grand Rapids West Catholic, Grandville Calvin Christian, Hamilton, Hudsonville Unity Christian, Kalamazoo Hackett Catholic Central, Muskegon Catholic Central, New Buffalo, South Haven, Spring Lake, Three Rivers, Wyoming Park, Wyoming Godwin Heights and Wyoming Rogers.
Niles will compete in the Division 2 golf tournament held at Marshall Country Club.
St. Joseph will also compete in Marshall.
Dowagiac will be attempting to reach its fourth straight district soccer championship as it travels to Paw Paw.
Joining the Chieftains and host Redskins will be Allegan, Edwardsburg, Comstock, South Haven and Three Rivers.
Dowagiac was defeated by Vicksburg in the district final last fall.
Niles will compete in the Division 2 district tournament at Mattawan.
Joining the Lady Vikings will be Benton Harbor, Mattawan, St. Joseph and Lakeshore.
The Division 4 soccer tournament will be held at Bridgman.
Joining the host Lady Bees will be Buchanan, Brandywine and Lake Michigan Catholic.
The Chieftain tennis team heads to Allegan for the Division 3 regional tournament.
Also on hand will be the host Tigers, Hamilton, Niles, Plainwell, Gull Lake, South Haven, St. Joseph, Lakeshore and Wayland Union.
Buchanan will once again host the Division 4 regional at Leeper Park in South Bend, Ind.
The Lady Bucks will be joined by Berrien Springs, Bridgman, Cassopolis, Coloma, Eau Claire, Edwardsburg, Brandywine, Parchment, Paw Paw and Lake Michigan Catholic.
