Brigitha named Chippewas’ MVP

Senior Gerrit Brigitha was named the Most Valuable Player at the 2003-04 Central Michigan University men's basketball team banquet on Sunday.
The 6-8 center from Niles was the only Chippewa to start every game this year and he averaged team highs of 17.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Brigitha shot .570 from the floor to lead the Mid-American Conference.
He scored in double figures 24 times and tallied four double-doubles.
