Kalamazoo Valley knocked out of national tournament

The Kalamazoo Valley Community College women's basketball team fell short in its quest for a national championship over the weekend in Overland Park, Kan.
The Lady Cougars won their first game of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Tournament, but fell to eventual runner-up Scottsdale, 75-71, Friday afternoon.
KVCC then lost to Kirkwood, 64-57, on Saturday to be eliminated from the tournament.
Niles High School graduates Jami Grannell and Mary Small were members of the Kalamazoo Valley team, which finished the season with a record of 32-3. KVCC's Becca Cline made the All-Tournament team.
