LMC falls in semifinals

The Lake Michigan College men's basketball team lost a heartbreaker in the semifinals of the NJCAA Region 12 Tournament Friday night against host Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
The Indians led 30-27 at halftime but KVCC overcame the deficit and pulled out a 58-57 victory. The Cougars suffered a 64-61 loss to Mott in the title game Saturday.
The Indians finish the season with a record of 13-17.
Niles High School graduate Desmond Favors led all scorers in the semifinal game with 22 points. He made five 3-pointers for the Indians. Niles graduates Adam Shepherdson and Corey Thacker also aided the LMC effort. Thacker scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Shepherdson scored eight and grabbed seven rebounds.
