NILES -- The final set of pairings for this winter's district tournaments took place Thursday in St. Joseph.
The Niles varsity volleyball team found out it would face Edwardsburg first in the Class B Tournament at St. Joseph High School on Saturday, March 6.
Niles and Edwardsburg square off in the first match at 3 p.m. Coloma and St. Joseph will then meet at 4 p.m. Lakeshore awaits the Niles-Edwardsburg winner for the first semifinal match at 5 p.m. Berrien Springs will take on the Coloma-St. Joseph winner in the other semifinal at 6 p.m. The championship match is set for 7:15 p.m.
In the Class C District Volleyball Tournament at Buchanan, also on March 6, Brandywine and Buchananwill play in the first match at 9 a.m. River Valley and Eau Claire will square off in the other first-round match at 10:15 a.m. Bridgman awaits the Brandywine-Buchanan winner in the first semifinal at 11:30 a.m. while Watervliet will take on the River Valley/Eau Claire winner at 12:15 p.m The championship match is set for 2 p.m.
The boys basketball districts will be played at Coloma and Buchanan.
In the Class B Tournament at Coloma, the Niles varsity basketball team faces Lakeshore on Monday, March 8, at 6 p.m. Dowagiac will then square off at 8 p.m. St. Joseph will take on the Niles-Lakeshore winner Wednesday, March 10, at 6 p.m. Berrien Springs awaits the Dowagiac-Coloma winner for an 8 p.m. semifinal on Wednesday. The championship game is set for Friday, March 12, at 7 p.m.
Buchanan will tip off the Class C Tournament on its home court with a first-round game against River Valley on Monday, March 8, at 7 p.m. Brandywine and Watervliet will battle on Tuesday, March 9, at 7 p.m. Bridgman faces the Buchanan-River Valley winner on Wednesday, March 10, at 7 p.m. Eau Claire takes on the Brandywine-Watervliet winner on Thursday, March 11, at 7 p.m. The championship game will be Saturday, March 13, at 7 p.m.
