Rangers fall to Bridgman

Tyler Weaver hit a jump shot as time expired Friday night to give visiting Bridgman a 47-46 Lakeland Conference victory over Cassopolis.
Bridgman jumped out to a 13-7 first quarter lead, but had to settle for a 27-27 tie at halftime after the Rangers exploded for 20 points in the second quarter.
Bridgman edged back ahead by outscoring the Rangers 13-10 in the third quarter and took a 40-37 lead into the final period.
The game was nip-and-tuck the rest of the way with the final outcome in doubt until Weaver's buzzer-beater.
Simon Ballard led Cassopolis with 19 points. Eric Brown added 14 points. Weaver finished with a game-high 21 points. Corey Kuhn added 11.
The loss dropped the Rangers to 5-4 on the season and 3-2 in the league. Bridgman is now 6-5 overall and 3-3 in the Lakeland.
The Ranger JV defeated Bridgman 62-47 on Friday. Neal Bullocks scored 17 points and hauled down 12 rebounds. Derron Thomas added 16 points, six rebounds, four steals and four assists.
