The Dowagiac junior varsity and freshman volleyball teams were swept by host Lakeshore Wednesday night.
The JV were defeated by the Lady Lancers, 10-15, 15-10 and 11-15. The freshmen were beaten, 5-15 and 14-16.
Maureen Pickar and Kim Luthringer led the JV in kills with four. Ashley Willis had seven assists and four aces, Pickar and Luthringer had nine and eight digs respectively. Jill Billingham had two blocks.
Dowagiac is now 14-12-2.
On Saturday at LMC, Dowagiac finished second. The Chieftains were first in their pool. Dowagiac lost to Lakeshore in the finals, 21-25 and 22-25.
Jill Wiesemes had 11 assists and five aces for Dowagiac, which also got nine kills and four blocks from Calie Daniels.
Katie Hewitt finished with two digs.
Dowagiac is now 10-14-2.
On Saturday at Bangor, Dowagiac finished second in its pool after beating Bangor and Fennville and splitting with Constantine. Dowagiac lost to Bridgman in the semifinals.
Brittany Bruens had 27 kills.
