Miller scores 21 in Ferris victory

The Ferris State University women's basketball team improved to 12-5 overall and 7-1 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Thursday night with an 87-70 win over Gannon in Big Rapids.
Niles High School graduate Erin Miller was one of two Ferris players to score a game-high 21 points. Lucy DeMartin was the other. Miller also grabbed five rebounds while handing out three assists and stealing the ball three times.
Ferris hosts Mercyhurst Saturday at 1 p.m.
For the season, Miller is the team's second-leading scorer, behind DeMartin, as she is averaging 16.2 points per game. Miller also averages 4.8 rebounds and leads the team in assists and steals with 58 and 39, respectively.
Miller was the 2003 GLIAC Freshman of the Year.
