See-saw battle goes to Rangers

A see-saw battle between Lakeland Confrence schools ended with a 63-57 victory by host Cassopolis Friday night.
The Rangers opened the game with a 9-0 lead. Trailing by two points with one second left in the third quarter, Cassopolis went on a 13-1 following a three-pointer by Mike Glenn.
That gave the Rangers a 10-point advantage, which was immediately erased by the Shamrocks with a 10-0 run.
With the game tied at 57 with 1:20 remaining on the clock, the Rangers scored the final six points to earn the victory.
Ashton Danzy's two free throws with 46 ticks left on the clock gave Cassopolis the lead for good.
The Rangers (2-3, 2-1) led 20-19 after one period of play and 29-28 at the intermission.
Cassopolis outscored Berrien Springs 18-14 in the third quarter and then 16-13 in the final eight minutes to pick up the second win of the season.
Eric Brown paced the Rangers with 13 points, while Danzy finished with 12 points.
Berrien Springs was led by James Lockett's 14 points. Nolan Martin and Ryan Williamson both scored 12 points.

The Rangers continued to score in spurts Tuesday night and as a result put together a two-game winning streak with a 68-55 non-conference victory over visiting Constantine.
Cassopolis (3-3) used a 16-2 run in the third quarter to open up a 22-point advantage on the Falcons (2-2).
Constantine then scored 12 straight points to get back in the contest, trailing only by five points with four minutes remaining.
The Rangers answered with a 12-0 run of their own to finish off the Falcons.
Brown led a balanced Cassopolis attack with 16 points. Dan Stanage added 11 points and Simon Ballard 10.
Grant Wolf scored 13 points for the Falcons before fouling out. Adam Lowler also reached double digits with 10.
The Rangers return to action Friday night when they host River Valley in a Lakeland Conference match up.
The Rangers then travel to Dowagiac on Tuesday night for its annual contest with the Chieftains.
