NILES -- If you are facing an audit this tax season, Balanced Accounting and Tax Services offers a service that is rare in our area.
Owner Judy Windhauser is an enrolled agent licensed by the U.S. Treasury Department.
These special licenses allow the agent to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Balanced Accounting and Tax Services, which opened in November of 2001, offers a variety of accounting services including tax preparation, payroll and consulting.
Windhauser, who has been working with taxes for the past 30 years, thinks her business stands out because of the attention they give to their customers.
Balanced Accounting and Tax Services also pays close attention to confidentiality.
As tax seasons draws near, Windhauser said business has already began to pick up with increased customers, phone calls and questions.
To handle this increase, Balanced Accounting and Tax Services has extended their hours for tax season.
From Jan. 19 to April 15, they will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and they will be open until 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturday hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
