7th grade swept by St. Joe

The Central Middle School seventh grade basketball teams were swept by St. Joe Upton on Monday.
The Orange team dropped a 35-20 decision to the Bears, while the Black team was defeated, 37-32.
Robert Jirmnson led the Orange team with eight points. Tanner Melvin and Onie Turner each scored four points.
The Orange squad also got two points from Jon West and Corey Ausra.
Shaun Bruens led the Black team with nine points.
Dre Kiser and Zach Russom each tallied six points.
Drew Cooper finished with three points.
Scoring two points were Jaren Wade, Joel Martinez, Greg Nelson and Jason Bailey.
Last Thursday the Black team defeated New Buffalo, 55-36.
Kiser led all scorers with 16 points.
Romero Reed added eight points with Wade and Patrick Haggin each scoring six points.
Martinez finished with five points. Michael Filley and Tim DeRyder each scored four points.
Cooper, Bruens and Bailey all had two points.
The seventh grade closes out its season on Thursday at home against Brandywine.
Play is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
