Miller GLIAC Player of the Week

Ferris State University sophomore guard Erin Miller, a Niles High School graduate, has been selected this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Player of the Week for her performance in the Bulldogs' four outings over the holiday break.
Miller averaged 21.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game as Ferris compiled a 1-3 mark in the four road outings. She totaled three 20-plus point performances during the stretch, including a team-high 24 points at Central Arkansas (1/3) and 22 points versus Indianapolis (12/19) at the GLIAC/Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Classic held in Midland, Mich.
Ferris' 2003-04 Rookie of the Year Award winner, Miller was 30-of-61 (.492) from the floor and 11-of-26 (.423) from three-point range in the four-game stretch. She also sank 11-of-12 (.917) free throw attempts. Besides scoring 22 points at Central Arkansas, Miller also made six steals, dished out five assists and grabbed four rebounds. She added 20 points in FSU's GLIAC/GLVC Classic win over Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (12/20) and 18 points at Henderson State, Ark. (1/2).
The 5-7 Miller presently has reached double-figure scoring in 11 of her 13 contests this campaign and ranks as the Bulldogs' second-leading scorer (16.2 ppg) to date. She also scored her 500th career point last Friday (1/2) at Henderson State.
Miller was the recipient of the GLIAC's 2002-03 Freshman of the Year Award after ranking as the team's third-leading scorer (12.5 ppg). She posted 17 double-figure scoring performances last season and concluded the year ranked second among Ferris' assists leaders (3.2 apg). Miller scored 10 points or more in eight of her last 11 outings and compiled four 20-plus point contests while starting all 26 games during the 2002-03 campaign.
Ferris State, which is currently 8-5 overall and 3-1 in the GLIAC, will entertain rival Grand Valley State this Saturday (Jan. 10) in a 1 p.m. (EST) league contest at FSU's Jim Wink Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.
The game represents the Bulldogs' initial apperance in the facility this campaign.
