Holiday has few police complaints

On Dec. 24 at approximately 4 a.m., Niles City Police were dispatched for a domestic assault call.
When officers arrived at the scene, Jason Scott Bonner, 28, of 19053 Cleveland Rd. in South Bend, Ind., was gone.
While they were talking with the victim about what happened, another officer conducted a traffic stop of Bonner.
Bonner was given a Preliminary Breath Test and the results were .17 per 210 liters of breath.
He was arrested and charged with operating while impaired and domestic violence.
Also on Dec. 24, officers were called to Martin's Super Market for a shoplifter.
Store security observed Anthony Thomas Slaughter, 30, of 1236 Phoenix in Niles, conceal an item and place it in his pocket.
Slaughter was arrested and booked for retail fraud.
Niles City Police were dispatched to the 600 block of S. Fifth Street for an unwanted person complaint on Saturday, Dec. 27 at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Police made contact with John Calvin Jones, 41, of 707 N. Front St. in Niles.
Upon searching Jones, police found a glass crack pipe in his pants pocket and a white substance in his jacket pocket.
They field tested the substance and it tested positive for crack cocaine.
Jones was arrested and transported to the Law Enforcement Complex, where he was charged with possession of crack cocaine.
