CASSOPOLIS -- Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports his office handled a personal-injury accident at 3:25 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Brick Church Road and M-62 in Jefferson Township.
The sheriff identified the victim as Jennifer Parcell, 25, of Cassopolis.
Mrs. Parcell was northbound on M-62 when her vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck a school bus coming to a stop at the intersection of Brick Church and M-62.

Initial investigation and witnesses believe Mrs. Parcell fell asleep while driving, causing her to lose control of her Ford Escort.

Mrs. Parcell was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Deputies described weather and road conditions at the time of the crash as cloudy and dry. Alcohol was not a factor.
