The City of Buchanan received notification from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Grants Section, that the City's application was not selected for funding under the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund program.
The City also submitted an application for funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which hasn't yet been decided.
The City applied for $154,050 from the DNR for Phase 1 fo the McCoy Creek trail Project. This was the third year in a row that the City did not receive funding.
The City of Buchanan plans to consider alternative means of constructing the trail, which could include modifying the project.
