Coloma pressure too much for Rangers in opener

The Coloma Comets used a pressure defense to force Cassopolis into 24 first half turnovers en route to a 84-41 Lakeland Conference victory Tuesday night.
The win raised Coloma's record to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the league, while the Rangers were playing in their season opener.
Coloma led 23-11 after one period of play and 51-15 at halftime as the Comets outscored the Rangers 28-4 in the second quarter.
The Rangers played better in the third quarter, outscoring Coloma, 17-16.
Eric Brown led the Rangers with 12 points, while Kirk Baucom scored eight points and Dan Stanage six.
Coloma was led by Jake Boven's 21.
