Jr. high basketball teams fall to Niles Ring Lardner

The Central Middle School seventh and eighth grade boys' basketball teams were defeated by Niles Ring Lardner Monday afternoon.
The seventh grade Orange team dropped a 48-30 decision to the Vikings, while the Black team was defeated, 40-33.
The eighth grade Orange team was defeated by Ring Lardner, 47-11. The Black team fell to the Vikings, 49-21.
Tanner Melvin led the seventh grade Orange squad with nine points.
The Orange team also got six points from P.J. Wirick and four points each from Robert Jirmnson and Jon West.
Claudell Cyprian, David Stark, Corey Kovatch all scored two points.
Zach Russom led the Black team with 10 points. Dre Kiser added eight points with Patrick Haggin and Romero Reed scoring five and four points respectively.
Joel Martinez, Greg Nelson and Shawn Bruens all scored two points.
The eighth grade Orange team was led by Reggie Fritz's five points. Troy Stover added four points.
The Black team was led by Jamie Simpson who scored 10 points and grabbed two rebounds.
Glenn Haggin added seven points and three rebounds, while Jake Kling also snared three rebounds.
The seventh and eighth grade squads will both take on Lakeshore Thursday afternoon instead of Benton Harbor Fairplain which has canceled sports.
The seventh grade will host the Lancers at 4 p.m., while the eighth grade will travel to Stevensville for a 4 p.m. start.
