CASSOPOLIS -- Cass County Sheriff Joseph Underwood Jr. reports that deputies are investigating a home invasion on Calvin Center Road near Mason Street in Mason Township.
At 12:35 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, the sheriff's office received a 911 call from a neighboring residence.
The caller reported seeing persons in the home under construction and heard crashing.
Four deputies responded to the priority call.
Three of these deputies were in the area at Mason Township Hall for Community Policing's "Shop with a Cop" program.
Upon their arrival on the scene, the suspects were apprehended after a short foot case.
Two juvenile suspects were released to their parents.
The other suspect, 17, whose name was withheld pending arraignment, was transported to the Cass County Jail and lodged for home invasion of an unoccupied dwelling.
A deputy who stayed with the kids at the Mason Township Hall reported that when the responding deputies advised over the police radio that three suspects were in custody, the kids cheered.
