NILES -- A man who allegedly tried stealing $54 worth of steaks from Martin's Supermarket Tuesday wasn't very successful.
Security officers of the supermarket contacted police, saying that a man, later identified as Charlie Lee Hinds, 38, of 101 1/2 E. Front Street, concealed six steaks inside his jacket and down the front of his pants and attempted to leave the store.
The security officer allegedly stopped him and Hinds allegedly threw the steaks upon the floor and tried to run from the building.
Hinds was booked and lodged with bail set at $500.
