Brandywine made just 12-of-22 free throws Friday night in a 53-44 non-conference loss at Covert.
The Bobcats trailed 24-16 at halftime and battled back to tie the game at 33 by the end of the third quarter. Covert, however, outscored Brandywine 20-11 in the final period to seal the victory.
Andy Low led Brandywine with 17 points and Mike Beauchamp added 13.
The Bobcats, now 1-2 on the year, host Buchanan to open the Lakeland Conference season Tuesday night.
