Grice elected

CASSOPOLIS -- Michael Grice was re-elected to his seat as a District 2 regional representative at the Michigan Association of Animal Control Officers (MAACO) fall conference election in Lansing.
MAACO provides training opportunities for anim control personnel throughout Michigan and is one of the oldest state animal control organizations in the nation.
MAACO celebrated its 45th anniversary this year. This is the fourth year Grice has been elected as a member of the MAACO board of directors. He has been an animal control officer with Cass County since July 1975.
Approximately 100 individuals participated in the fall conference that had workshops on cougars in Michigan, "CSI" for animal control, cruelty investigations, West Nile virus and other animal-related diseases to name a few.
District 2 of MAACO is made up of 16 counties, including Cass, St. Joseph, Van Buren, Berrien and Kalamazoo.
The district's northern boundary includes Kent County. Its eastern boundary includes Jackson County.
