NILES -- The second annual Niles-Buchanan YMCA Halloween party is taking place this Friday, Oct. 24.
The party, which is for children between three and 12 years old, starts at 6 p.m. and goes to 7:30 p.m
Party coordinator, Darla Schneider, is hoping for a good turn out to this year's party, which will take place inside the YMCA.
Schneider said the party will take place in an environment that ensures the children will get to experience a real Halloween atmosphere in a safe environment.
She also said there will be games for the children, as well as refreshments.
The children, who must be pre-registered by their parents no later than Thursday after 9:30 p.m., must also be accompanied by their parents at the party.
Before the children leave, they will all get a goody bag containing a YMCA t-shirt, junior frosties, a lithograph and a toothbrush donated by a local dentist, Schneider said.
Schneider said parents will be able to walk around and keep an eye on their children as they participate in different activities.
She thinks with a good turnout, the party may even be a good way for parents to socialize with other adults.
At the end of the party, Schneider said there will be an opportunity to take pictures inside the YMCA.
Monday morning, 75 children were already registered for the party. For more information about the event, call the YMCA at 683-1552.
