Bobcats hold off Edwardsburg for second straight Lakeland victory

Brandywine improved to 6-7 on the year and 4-5 in Lakeland Conference play with a 39-36 victory over Edwardsburg Tuesday night in high school girls basketball action.
The Bobcats, which also beat Edwardsburg earlier in the season, were led by Judy Schlutt's 11 points which included a 9-of-10 performance at the free throw line.
Brandywine also got seven points from Kalie Newman and six from Emily Whitney.
Jessica Shotwell led all scorers with 12 points for the Eddies (2-13, 0-9). Jessica Neagu added seven points.
Brandywine travels to River Valley Thursday night for another Lakeland Conference showdown with the league-leading Mustangs.
The Brandywine junior varsity team beat Edwardsburg 38-27 to improve to 10-2 overall and 9-0 in the league. Rachel Batman led the Bobcats with nine points.
