CASSOPOLIS -- Cassopolis Dental is changing the way people feel about going to the dentist. There is even a treasure prize box for adults and birthdays are remembered.
If they realize a patient needs a lift, they surprise them with a "Bad Day" gift.
The doctor and his "team" have created the vision they wanted for their workplace during a quarter of a million dollar renovation to the offices he took over 14 years ago.
They picked out and coordinated the color scheme together, eliminating the pink paneling. The waiting room is comfortable and attractive, without a medical look.
The consultation rooms are private, as are the individual rooms used by the dentist and hygienists.
Another change is that the sterilization lab is now separated from the lab, which can get dust with cement. Older working units were replaced and the interior gutted. Plumbing was needed under cement.
For hygienist Carla Carrubba of Edwardsburg, it means less turning and reaching.
The construction team, from Elkhart, Ind., Almack Sotebeer, Hayman praised, not only for their work, but their consideration of the staff, who kept the building open all but two weeks. Often they came weekends or evenings to stay out of the way.
Dr. Hayman is very involved in both school and community events and Chamber activities. He and his wife Karly have two sons, Johnnie, 9 and Darrien, 4.
Hayman also comes from a small town, northeast of Detroit. He plays hockey both in South Bend, Ind. and Kalamazoo.
Cassopolis Dental will show off the remodeled offices to both the patients and community on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 3 to 8 p.m.
