Buchanan knocks off Cass

For the second time this week, the Buchanan varsity basketball team knocked off one of the Lakeland Conference leaders, upsetting Cassopolis 53-50 Thursday night.
The Bucks are now tied with Cassopolis in the Lakeland standings as both have 6-3 records. Buchanan is 8-6 on the year while The Rangers are 10-3 overall.
Buchanan overcame an 18-8 deficit at the end of the first quarter.
Ashlee Layher led all scorers with 20 points for the Bucks. Dee Dee Thompson and Sheena Bradshaw each added 11 points. Thompson also hauled in 11 rebounds for a double-double.
Buchanan travels to Lawrence next Thursday night.
