Lady Rangers fall to Chieftains

The Dowagiac varsity tennis team wrapped up its regular season on Tuesday with a 7-1 non-conference victory over visiting Cassopolis.
The Chieftains mixed up their line up against the short-handed Lady Rangers.
Dowagiac (3-6-1) used primarily doubles players against Cassopolis in both singles and doubles play.
Kristine Swisher earned her first and only singles victory on Tuesday with a 1-6, 6-2 and 6-1 win over Sarah Kwast at No. 1 singles. Cassopolis earned its lone victory at No. 2 singles where Brittany Polmateer defeated Kelleigh Schaus, 6-3 and 6-7. Schaus and Polmateer played a 10-point tiebreaker to decide the winner.
Cassopolis and Dowagiac will compete in the Division 4 regional on Friday at Leeper Park in South Bend, Ind.
