St. Joseph sweeps CC jamboree

St. Joseph swept the final Big-16 Conference West Division jamboree held Wednesday at Riverview Park.
The Bears easily outdistanced Niles, 32-49. Lakeshore was third with 51 points and Dowagiac fourth with 99. Benton Harbor did not field a team.
The Lady Bears also cruised to an easy win as it scored 25 points compared to 41 for runner-up Lakeshore. Dowagiac was third with 96 points, while Niles and Benton Harbor were fourth and fifth with 97 and 126 points respectively.
Dowagiac was led by Bradley Lee who finished 12th with a time of 18:01. Jason Tabbert was 13th in 18:02.
The girl's team was led by Amanda VanHusan, who finished eighth in 22:19. Alysse Cuthbert was 13th in 23:34.
