The regular season is quickly drawing to a close for the Dowagiac varsity tennis team, which traveled to Marshall on Monday for a Big-16 Conference crossover match.
The Chieftains picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, but fell to Marshall, 6-2.
Rubino noted that at third and fourth singles, along No. 1 doubles, got off to a slow start, but really picked it up and played well in the second set.
Dowagiac hosts Portage Central today in its final Big-16 Conference crossover match.
The Chieftains and Lady Mustangs are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
