CASSOPOLIS -- The Concerned Citizens Committee on Friday made its fourth attempt at filing language to circulate recall petitions against Dowagiac Mayor Donald D. Lyons.
The CCC, which last submitted language Sept. 11, states the mayor should be removed from office because: "On April 28, 2003, Mayor Don Lyons gave his approval to the rental inspection ordinance by his signature of the ordinance in spite of objections of citizens of Dowagiac who are affected by and will have to comply with the ordinance."
Cass County Clerk-Register Ann Simmons said this morning that a clarity hearing by herself and the other two members of the county Election Commission, Probate Judge Susan Dobrich and county Treasurer Linda Irwin, has been scheduled for 8:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, in Dobrich's courtroom in the Law and Courts Building, Cassopolis.
