DUHS golfers finish third at Blue Devil Invitational on Saturday

The Dowagiac varsity golf team took third at the Blue Devil Invitational on Saturday in Lawton.
The Chieftains finished with a team total of 358. Kalamazoo Hackett finished first with a score of 328.
Wayland was second with a 330.
Adam Maxey finished third and medaled with a score of 79.
Kyle Owen shot 89 for the Chieftains, while Ken Franz shot 92. Dowagiac also got a 98 from Ken Scott, a 100 from Scott Wilkinson and a 105 from Adam Carlson.
At the Spartan Invitational in Battle Creek on Thursday, Dowagiac finished 11th with a score of 325.
Grand Ledge won the tournament with a score of 290. Mason also scored 290, while Brighton and Portage Northern tied for third at 292.
Maxey shot 80 in medal play to finish 11th overall. Wilkinson shot 85 in medal play. Dowagiac shot 71 in the scramble, however, the names of the two competitors were unavailable at press time.
Dowagiac played in the Big-16 Conference tournament today.
