Dowagiac soccer teams fall to Christian

The Dowagiac varsity soccer team suffered its second straight defeat at the hands of a Kalamazoo area team.
On Saturday the Chieftains were blanked by Kalamazoo Christian, 2-0.
Christian scored a goal in each half as it outshot the Chieftains, 18-10.
Dowagiac keeper Davey Moran was credited with 14 saves.
Dowagiac, now 7-6-1 on the year, will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday when it hosts Berrien Springs in a non-conference match beginning at 5 p.m.
The Dowagiac junior varsity soccer team led 1-0 on Saturday, but wound up on the wrong end of a 2-1 score against visiting Kalamazoo Christian.
Dowagiac, 2-3-2, took a 1-0 lead with three seconds remaining in the first half when Amos Clark scored for the Chieftains.
Kalamazoo Christian tied the score at 1-1 in the 46th minute on a direct penalty kick.
The Comets scored the winning goal in the 59th minute.
Dowagiac finished with 13 shots on goal and had 12 saves.
Dowagiac will travel to Buchanan for a match on Wednesday.
