Dowagiac cross country teams split with visiting Constantine Falcons

The Dowagiac girls' cross country team put together a strong effort in beating visiting Constantine Thursday afternoon at Southwestern Michigan College.
The Chieftains defeated the Lady Falcons, 23-32.
Amanda VanHusan led the way as she was the race winner with a time of 23:42.
Kelly Garland finished second for the Chieftains with a time of 23:48.
Alysse Cuthbert was fifth with a time of 25:24, while Leah Dohm was sixth with a time of 25:40.
Katie Hewitt finished ninth with a time of 27:23.
The Chieftain boys' team was defeated by Constantine, 21-40.
Bradley Lee and Jason Tabbert ran second and fifth respectively with times of 18:33 and 19:22, however, Dowagiac could not get another runner in the Top 13.
John Klapchuck finished 14th with a time of 22:48. Chris Primley finished 15th with a time of 23:07, while Jacob Crowl and Andy Howard were 18th and 19th respectively with times of 23:42 and 23:48.
Dowagiac will run again on Saturday at the Battle Creek Central Cross Country Invitational.
