More than a hundred young anglers fished in the first, and hopefully annual, Stone Lake Kids' Fishing Derby on Saturday, Sept. 20. More than $400 in prize money was awarded. Some categories no fish were caught. Prizes of $25 for first, $15 for second and $10 for third went to the following:
Age group 5-8:
1st -- Mark Sutherland, 8 and 1/2"
2nd -- Abigail Harrison, 6 and 5/8"
tie for second -- Jaelin Jones, 6 and 5/8"
1st -- Anthony Pompey, 10 and 1/2"
Age group 9-11:
1st -- Cory Streeter, 6"
2nd -- Joe Bevins, 5 and 1/2"
3rd -- Derrick Davis, Jim Coates, 5 and 1/4"
1st -- Kaelyn Grumm, 6 and 1/4"
2nd -- Jeoffrey Jones, 6"
3rd -- Derrick Davis, 5 and 1/2"
1st -- Kayla Dickens, 11"
2nd -- Travis Bevins, 10"
Age group 12-13:
1st -- Shaylee Davis, 6 and 1/4"
2nd -- Tom Wilson, 5 and 1/2"
