EDWARDSBURG -- Tuesday's .50 mill bond proposal for an Edwardsburg district auditorium, which would have seated between 750 and 800 people, lost by a 533-418 vote. Plans had called for the $6.2 million facility to be built between the high school and middle school.
This building would have been the last project in the school district's five-year plan. Superintendent Sherman Ostrander had outlined the project to the parents and board members at school board meetings and three informational meetings had been held to answer questions of Edwardsburg taxpayers.
