St. Joe blanks Niles

The Niles varsity soccer team played its final Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference West Division match of the season Tuesday night, losing 4-0 to St. Joseph on the road.
The Vikings, now 3-6-1 overall and 2-2 in the West Division, travel to crosstown rival Brandywine Thursday night.
The Vikings trailed just 1-0 at halftime. St. Joseph outshot Niles 20-4 and Viking goalkeeper Cory Coquillard had 18 saves.
The Niles junior varsity team tied with the Bears, 1-1. C.J. Rumpf scored the Vikings' only goal one minute into the game. St. Joseph did not score until 20 minutes remained in the contest.
Dan Ott had 19 saves in goal for Niles, which is now 3-1-1 overall.
