Buchanan, Chiefs play to 2-2 draw

A big second half rally lifted the Dowagiac varsity soccer team into a 2-2 tie with host Buchanan Saturday afternoon.
The Bucks (4-4-2) scored both of its goals in the first half, while Dowagiac (4-3-1) tallied its goals in the second half.
Doug Summers with an assist from Chris Seecco got Buchanan on the board first in the 19th minute.
The Bucks extended their lead to 2-0 as Seecco scored an unassisted goal in the 26th minute.
Late in the second half the Chieftains were finally able to find the net as Tony Black cut the lead to 2-1 with an unassisted goal in the 74th minute. Dowagiac tied the score at 2-2 five minutes later when Brandon Zachary scored an unassisted goal.
Dowagiac held a 21-17 advantage in shots on goal according to the Chieftains' charts with both Davey Moran and Buchanan's Josh Wolstrom coming up with 12 saves.
Dowagiac will return to action on Tuesday when it hosts Lakeshore in a Big-16 Conference West Division match.
