CASSOPOLIS -- Cass County Medical Care Facility needs $28,000 in firewall repairs by Jan. 1 to correct deficiencies which have existed since it was built more than 25 years ago.
A fire marshal's inspection "found some very serious things wrong dating back to 1977, when the building was built. There were some flaws in construction that were approved at that time by the state fire marshal," Commissioner Carl Higley Sr., R-Ontwa Township, reported last Thursday night to the Board of Commissioners.
