Brandywine, Buchanan split Lakeland matches

The Brandywine soccer team suffered a 6-3 Lakeland Conference loss against Berrien Springs Monday night.
The Shamrocks scored the first four goals of the game before Andy Low scored off an assist from D.J. Elrod. Matt Wieger then scored off an assist from Low. Low scored again off another assist from Elrod to cut the lead to 4-3 with 26 minutes left in the contest.
Berrien Springs, however, came back to score two more goals in the final 10 minutes of the game.
Brandywine actually outshot the Shamrocks 16-15. Berrien goalkeeper Clint Jepkema had nine saves and Brandywine's Kyle Perry had seven saves in goal.
The Bobcats return to action Thursday at Marcellus for a non-conference game.
Buchanan soccer
Buchanan's soccer team came out on top in a Lakeland Conference match Monday night at Edwardsburg.
The visiting Bucks stole a 2-1 decision with a goal in the last minute of the game. Buchanan is now 4-4-1 while Edwardsburg is 3-3.
Doug Summer scored with 35 seconds left on the clock to seal the victory for Buchanan. Jose Gonzales scored Buchanan's first goal, just 11 minutes into the second half.
Ryan Warner scored Edwardsburg's only goal, off an assist from Jeremy Watkins, in the 25th minute of the second half.
Josh Wahlstrom had 28 saves in goal for the Bucks while Tony Schmitt and Josh Montgomery each had four saves for the Eddies.
Buchanan returns to action Saturday at home against Dowagiac at 10:30 a.m.
