Several arrests made

NILES -- A man was arrested in Niles on Friday for alleged contempt of court and vehicle theft.
Donald Glen Tweedy, 23, 405 Dey St., Niles, was arrested when officers stopped him riding his bike allegedly without a light after dark, the police report said.
Tweedy was stopped on North Sixth Street near Sycamore Street.
The officers checked Tweedy's record and found he had two warrants out for his arrest.
Tweedy was placed under arrest and booked and lodge at the Niles City Police Department with a total bond of $5,075.
In other police reports:
Todd Alan Douglas, 36, 803 Grand St., Mishawaka, Ind., was arrested after officers were dispatched to Martin's Supermarket for a shoplifter that was allegedly resisting supermarket security personnel, the police report said.
Upon arrival, the officers made contact with the store security.
The security personnel stated Douglas allegedly had tried to steal eight DVD's, which the officers later allegedly found in Douglas' shorts pockets.
Douglas was arrested and transported to Niles City Police Department where he was booked and lodged on a $200 bond.
In other police reports:
Dennis Alan Stanley, 39, 58061 M62, Cassopolis, was arrested after officers were dispatched to Eastgate Shopping center to relay with Cass County Sheriff's Department on a subject they had arrested on a warrant out of Niles City Police Department.
Stanley was handed over to the Niles City Police and transported to the Niles City Police Department where he was booked and lodged with a $500 bond.
Andrew James Keller, 24, 615 Ferry St., Apt. No. 4, Niles, was arrested after officers observed a pick-up truck travelling westbound on Ferry Street, the police report said.
The truck was pulled over because it was allegedly going through a turn with squealing wheels.
Officers made contact with Keller, who allegedly could show no proof of insurance of proper registration.
Neither did Keller allegedly have a valid Michigan drivers license and was, when he was pulled over, allegedly teaching his sister how to drive.
The officers took Keller into custody and transported him to the Niles City Police Department where he was booked and lodged on $1,000 bond.
Aaron Shawndale Cosey, 24, was arrested when officers stopped a vehicle for a loud muffler on E. Main Street, near Second Street, the police report said.
After checking Cosey's records, police found he allegedly had a warrant out for his arrest. Cosey was arrested on the warrant and taken to the Niles City Police Department where he payed the $210 bond.
