Niles golfers enjoy some success during busy week

The Niles varsity golf team has had a busy and productive week.
On Monday, the Vikings took part in the Coldwater Invitational at the Coldwater Country Club, which is also the site of this year's Division 2 Regional Tournament.
Niles finished 11th of 22 teams at the Coldwater event. Ben Landgraf paced the Vikings with a round of 80. Matt Molnar added 81 and Josh Flock shot 84. Scott Majerek helped out with an 87 and Nick Horn shot 103.
Ann Arbor Pioneer won the Coldwater Invitational with a team score of 309.
On Tuesday the Vikings finished second at the first SMAC West Division jamboree, hosted by Lakeshore.
St. Joseph won the jamboree with Niles just two strokes behind. Lakeshore finished third, Dowagiac fourth and Benton Harbor fifth.
On Wednesday the Niles golfers travelled to the Gull Lake Blue Devil Invitational. They finished seventh out of 20 teams.
Mattawan won the Gull Lake event with a team score of 306 and Niles shot 324 as a team.
Landgraf again paced Niles with a round of 1-over-par 72. He tied with two other golfers for tournament medalist honors.
Molnar shot 77, Flock shot 86, Daren Martin shot 89 and Majerek also shot 89.
The Niles golf team returns to action today at the South Haven Invitational and then plays in another SMAC West Division jamboree Monday, hosted by Dowagiac at Hampshire Country C.lub.
