Niles finishes 14th out of 20

The Niles varsity golf team finished 14th out of 20 teams at the Battle Creek Central Invitational played Friday at Marywood Golf Course in Battle Creek.
The Vikings' team score of 336 was 44 strokes off the score of 292 shot by Ann Arbor Pioneer to win the event.
The tournament format included one player from the blue tees, one from the white tees and one from the red tees as well as a two-man scramble from the white tees.
Ben Landgraf, playing from the blue tees, shot 84 for Niles. Matt Molnar played from the white tees and shot 86. Scott Majerek shot 92 from the red tees.
Josh Flock and Daren Martin teamed up to shoot 75 in the scramble.
The Dowagiac varsity golf team finished 17th at same event.
David Maxey shot 81 to finish fourth and medal from the red tees. Ken Scott shot 94 from the blue tees and Kyle Owens shot 94 from the white tees.
Dowagiac's scramble team of Ken Franz and Adam Carlson finished with a 94.
Dowagiac finished with 360 points.
The Niles golf team is in action today at the Coldwater Invitational .
The Vikings also play Tuesday in the first SMAC West Division meet at The Oaks, hosted by Lakeshore.
